Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE SHOULD I STAY & HOW SHOULD I GET THERE?

Please visit our travel page here for our recommendations!

Because SMA hosts many boutique hotels, we do not have a room block.

If you plan to stay at the Rosewood or Belmond Casa De Sierra Nevada, please contact our wonderful travel planner, Allison Kahn, who is assisting with wedding travel and securing additional perks and amenities for our guests!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE EVENTS?

Welcome Party: bring your boots, sundresses, and guayaberas to start off the weekend!

Ceremeony & Reception: Black tie attire.

Colorful gowns are encouraged for women!

Ladies please pack thick/block heels if you plan to walk as San Miguel has cobblestone streets.

WILL WINSTON BE IN ATTENDANCE?

We asked. He said he’s not able to renew his passport in time and refuses to fly commercial :( He’ll be holding down the fort at home and expects souvenirs.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

We won’t be arranging group transportation, as everyone will be staying at different hotels and homes around town.

Thankfully, San Miguel is incredibly walkable, and most locations are nearby. Ubers are easy to get and usually just a quick 5–10 minute ride.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN NOVEMBER?

Please note that all events will be outdoors - the temperature typically ranges from high 70s during the day and low 50s in the morning & night.

IS SAN MIGUEL WALKABLE OR SHOULD I RENT A CAR?

Yes — San Miguel is very walkable! Most events, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance in the historic center.

We don’t recommend renting a car. The streets are narrow, parking is limited, and the cobblestones can make driving (and parking) tricky.

Be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes — and if you’re wearing heels, we suggest a block heel for the cobblestone streets.
